North Richland Hills - Specialty
In the early 1970's Hardy Sanders, founder of Bates Container, envisioned a corrugated box company that manufactured and provided complementary packaging products with the same consistently high quality and excellent customer service. He knew that he could save our customers money by supplying their boxes and other packaging supplies in one shipment. The first poly bag machine was installed in a corner of the Bates NRH corrugated plant in 1971 and was considered just a complementary service that we provided our customers. Beginning in 1996 the Specialty Division was officially formed and is becoming a substantial portion of our growth.
The Specialty Division finally outgrew its home in the corrugated plant in 1999
and moved less than a mile down Davis Blvd to lease 11,000 square feet of
manufacturing space. This division has continued to grow, acquiring 4 new
machines and growing into more than 14,000 square feet. The Specialty Division
has gone from strictly manufacturing poly bags to supplying all types of
non-corrugated packaging products, from bubble and stretch wrap to tape and
chipboard.
